Wondering how the Don’t Talk-A-Thon came to be? It all started with then 9-year-old Avery Niedrowski!
After her grandfather was diagnosed with ALS, he lost several of his abilities, but what Avery missed most was hearing his voice and sharing a laugh. To honor him, Avery took a vow of silence and raised thousands of dollars for Project ALS—kicking off what is now the annual Don’t Talk-A-Thon for ALS Awareness Month.
